MEET GRACE

Dr. Grace Jasin

Vision

Motivation to become a school board member

As a result of reported experiences by patients and others firsthand in my practice, I became increasingly alarmed at the medical and psychological impact of lockdowns and mandates and messaging to our children which were and are causing student anxiety, isolation and depression. My view is that the consequences of these decisions to the medical and mental health of children as well as the loss of critical and necessary learning are so serious that meaningful discussions with concerned parents should have been conducted.

What differentiates me from other candidates?

My extensive knowledge and experience as a psychologist both in the private and public sector blended with my medical background and education as a nursing leader and educator.

Priorities If Elected

  • Reclaim academic excellence in grades K through 12. Assure board decisions are transparent and intensely focused on improving student outcome, back to the basics of math, science, the arts and practical life skills.

  • Encourage parental involvement to support and advance a student first and pro parent agenda.

  • Explore more opportunities and examine possible development of dual track education to prepare students for career and technical fields.

  • Hire and retain competent teachers.

  • Examine the budget, because sometimes problems are not due to a shortage of money but how the money is spent.

  • Prioritize school nurses and counseling. Schools in Arizona are ranked 50th in the country for numbers of counselors.

  • Provide physical and psychological safety for our children.
